Yeah, basically their support sucks. Even though they state clearly in the support article I link to from the post that they support any drive that can be "mounted" by the OS, which this drive can be and has been backing up happily. They are just returning standard boiler plate responses saying that they don't support NAS drives. They are openly contradicting themselves and not actually addressing the problem.

I understand the need for tiered pricing. I create it all the time at work. However it should be based on use cases not an arbitrary decisions on a transport technology for data. The truly ridiculous part about this is that they quite happily admit that they'd support me if I plugged the drive into the Mac via USB. Same drive, same data, just a different cable. Insane!

I'd think that Mozy going to be losing a lot of customers as NAS units become more common and tech like MSFT Home Server is deployed everywhere to support the safe storage of digital media.

I'm going to ditch them soon if this doesn't get resolved. They are simply not offering a service that has any use to me with this ridiculous restriction. I'll just buy another NAS unit and set up replication between them then take the second one to work so it's offsite.

I can't wait to hear the results of your escalated Howard. I was thinking about trying-out the $5/month solution (after 'testing' the free 2GB the last couple of weeks). Not least because I was just reminded of the fickle nature of 'consumer quality' hard drives. An 18 month old WD 500GB (in a WD USB/SATA enclosure) just failed with no warnings. Fortunately it just had transient TV Recorded program data, but I've another attached to my Windows Home Server on-premise backup solution. I feel for the typical consumer...

Glass is one of the few composers to make dissonance and ugliness into beautiful and harmonious shards of musical artistry. Simply amazing. I think the work of Johnny Greenwood is reminiscent of Glass' music, if only in that he takes unconventional musical form and deploys it in such ways as to make lovely and ultimately listenable songs.

As far as Watchmen--it's incredible. I really think Zakk Snyder nailed it. I think he gets a lot of undue crap for being overly faithful to the source material (as if in this case that's a bad thing), but I think he pulled off the trick of being faithful, reverential and referential, while deviating just enough to make it all work to become a fantastic cinematic experience in its own right.

XP seems to be the last stable, usable OS that MSFT delivered. Shame they are so keen to kill it.

I agree completely about iTunes Linux support but I'm betting Apple looked into it and didn't see enough demand to justify the dev costs. That would be OK with me if they then hadn't gone and killed the open source effort to produce a Linux player that would support the iPod. Ubuntu rocks. I also run VirtualBox (Sun Microsystems) and have a virtual xp
machine running on it as well. With all that the same box also runs apache
mysql php for my custom database, sometimes ftp server, joomla for web dev.

My only whine - Apple won't make a version of itunes for linux and that
is just so wrong.

Im going to have you proof read all my posts from now on BB. :) Thanks for catching the typo. I think I'd have given Button 20 pts if I could! I deleted the race from TiVo but when I was watching it sure looked like our Spanish friend was just determined to get past Webber no matter what. Kind of in keeping with his general finesse-free style under prssure. If Webber did move over on him then you bet the stewards will be having their fun again... @ESLKid75

And Alonso was pushed in the grass by Webber, whose driving was dangerous, not Alonso... I'm no fan of Alonso but on this one, he didn't do anything wrong. Great driving by both...
